9 Heads - 9H03
9 Heads - a guide to drawing fashion by Nancy Riegelman - 3 New Edition.
Drawing Fashion/The Scope of this Book.
This book is a guide to drawing modern fashion in black and white, for all levels, from Beginners to Advanced. To make drawings of new fashion garments that are coherent and "make sense", that could easily be made in real garments, however we must become familiar with a basic knowledge of the elements of fashion. Once we know this language we will be able to frame our ideas for new fashion designs clearly and coherently, just as we would like to be able to frame sentences in a foreign language. The easiest way to learn about fashion, though, and almost certainly the most fun, is to do so visually-first studying photographs and drawings, and then learning how to make those drawings: Learning-about-fashion and learning-to-draw go hand-in-hand, and improving skills in one of those areas automatically improves skills in the other.
This book covers both of these linked sets of skills: it teaches how to draw fashion, to a level where virtually any type of garment can be drawn on the fashion figure, and it is also designed to serve as a reference work for a large amount of specific information on all types of fashion garments and details that can be drawn on and incorporated into new designs. Every effort is made to make this book as clear as possible-ideas are usually illustrated in several different ways, and text is designed to reinforce the illustrations, and vice-versa, in order that it can serve as a self-tuition guide as well as a textbook for those taking courses.
