WOMEN’S AND MEN’S HALF SCALE MANNEQUINS
We are now the Australasian agent for the Norray half scale mannequins. These mannequins provide an excellent teaching solution for classes with limited space, with the additional benefit of substantial cost savings in resources.
The Fashion Bookery are also very pleased to announce that we are now working closely with Don and Anne Hellier from Pattern Architects.
Don and Anne have considerable collective experience in both the Fashion Industry and in education. Don was a senior pattern maker lecturer at AUT University in the School of Fashion.
Pattern Architects are actively involved in providing pattern making and consultation services for the Fashion Industry and educational sectors and are experts in the creation of half scale block patterns perfectly suited to the half scale mannequins. These half scale blocks and mannequins are used in many of Don and Anne’s pattern workshops. In the fields of education, training and design, the half scale mannequins allow participants to undertake experimental designs with minimal use of costly resources e.g. sample fabrics, paper and card. The half scale teaching medium reduces the time involved in the sampling stages. All of which is aligned with the current global emphasis on sustainability.
An essential element with any mannequin is the ability of the form’s surface to allow for the use of pins that not only go into the surface but also stay there. In this respect the half scale mannequin forms are excellent.
